Wheelie Bin Cleaning in Randwick

Houses, unit blocks and share housing across Randwick — cleaned at the kerb, after collection.

Randwick’s red bin only goes out once a fortnight. That single fact changes what a bin smells like by day twelve, and it is why most of our Randwick work is the red bin rather than the recycling.

We clean and sanitise wheelie bins across Randwick for houses, unit blocks and the share housing around the hospital and university precinct.

Bin collection in Randwick

Randwick City Council runs three bins, and the food scraps go in the green one. The lime-green 240L FOGO bin takes food and garden waste together and is collected weekly.

The red bin is fortnightly for houses and weekly for apartment blocks. Yellow recycling is fortnightly.

Council asks for bins at the kerb the night before or by 5:30am, handles facing your house, 30cm apart and at least a metre clear of trees, poles and parked cars — then back on your property straight after collection.

A fortnight is a long time for a red bin

If the FOGO bin is used properly the red bin holds less, which is the theory behind the fortnightly cycle, and it mostly works. What it does not fix is the bin itself. Twelve days of residue through a Sydney summer builds a film that a garden hose will not shift.

The green bin has the opposite problem. It takes meat, seafood, bones and dairy every single week — precisely the load that leaves a bin smelling. Most Randwick customers book the red and the green together for that reason.

Six free clean-ups a year

Randwick is unusually generous on bulky waste: six free clean-up collections a year, which is double what most neighbouring councils allow and six times what some offer. If you are clearing a garage or a deceased estate, that allowance is worth planning around before paying anyone to take it away.

Where a job is bigger than the allowance, or you need it gone this week rather than on Council’s schedule, that is when our rubbish removal service makes sense.

What we clean in Randwick

Houses and semis. Bins are usually kept down the side or behind a gate, out of the wind, which is exactly where odour concentrates.

Unit blocks and share houses. Randwick has a great deal of both. A shared bin gets more use in a week than a household bin does in a month, and nobody living there owns the problem. We quote per bin area and work to the building’s collection days — see our service for strata and property managers.

Bin placement in Randwick

Council is specific here. Bins out the night before or by 5:30am, handles facing the house, 30cm apart, a metre clear of obstructions, lid shut, and back on the property straight after collection.

What we do. We take the bins to the kerb before collection and bring them back once they have been emptied, positioned the way Council asks for them.

Who books it. Landlords and agents with tenanted properties, building managers, and households where a fortnightly red bin is an easy thing to forget.
