Wheelie Bin Cleaning in Sydney and on the North Shore
Your red and yellow bins get emptied every week and cleaned never. What builds up in the bottom is the part nobody wants to deal with, and in a Sydney summer it does not stay in the bin.
myBins cleans wheelie bins at the kerb. Our truck does the work on the spot, the bin goes back where it was, and you do not have to be home.
What a clean actually involves
The bin goes into the back of the truck and is washed with high pressure water heated to around 90 degrees. That is hot enough to lift what is stuck to the walls and the base, which is where the smell lives.
Then it is sanitised and deodorised, inside and out, including the lid and the handle. The waste water comes with us. Nothing goes into your garden or down the stormwater drain, which matters more than people expect, because that is where it ends up untreated.
Why a hose will not do it
Most of the problem is not loose rubbish, it is a film baked onto the plastic. Cold water moves it around. Heat and pressure take it off.
The other half is what you cannot see. Bins are warm, dark and damp, which is close to ideal for bacteria and for the flies that lay in them. That is the actual cause of maggots, and it is why a bin can look empty and still smell.
How often is worth it
Most households on a regular plan go monthly or quarterly. Through summer, monthly makes the biggest difference, because the heat does the damage. Through winter you can usually stretch it.
If your bins have never been done, start with a single clean and see the difference before committing to anything. A first clean on a bin that has gone years is a different job to a maintenance clean, and it is the one people notice most.
One off cleans
Plenty of people book a one off rather than a plan:
- Moving into a place and inheriting someone else’s bins
- Moving out, where it is often part of the end of lease clean
- After a party, a big clean out, or anything that went in wet
- Before guests arrive, or before an inspection
No plan, no commitment, just the clean.
What it costs
Price depends on how many bins and how often. A regular plan works out cheaper per clean than a one off, because a maintained bin is quicker than a neglected one.
Send through your address and how many bins you have and we will give you a price. No obligation. If getting the bins out is the problem, we also do bin placement.
Where we clean
We cover Sydney and the North Shore, including Manly, Neutral Bay, Mosman, Dee Why, Freshwater, Balgowlah, Cremorne, Coogee, Randwick, Bondi, Double Bay and the surrounding suburbs.
If you are nearby and not listed, ask. We will tell you either way.
Common questions
Do I need to be home?
No. Put your bins out as normal on your collection day and we do the rest. Most of our customers are at work when we come.
What if my bin is still full?
We clean after your council collection, so the bin is empty when we get to it. If something is left in the bottom, that is exactly what we are there for.
Where does the dirty water go?
It stays in the truck and is disposed of properly. It does not go into your garden, the gutter or the stormwater system.
Is it safe for the bin?
Yes. The water is hot and the pressure is high, but it is a washing process, not a stripping one. It will not damage the plastic or the wheels.
Do you do apartment and strata bins?
Yes, including bin rooms and shared bin bays. That is a different job to a kerbside clean and it is quoted separately.
Can I get just one bin done?
Yes. Plenty of people only want the red one, because that is the one that smells.
