Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I book wheelie bin cleaning?

The most popular cleaning frequency for household customers is quarterly, and the most popular cleaning frequency for apartment blocks is monthly. Having said that, we offer all frequencies from weekly to yearly and everything in between.

Does bin cleaning remove smells and bacteria?

Yes — our process is designed to reduce bin smells and remove built-up grime and bacteria, leaving bins hygienic and fresh.

Can you help with flies and maggots in bins?

Yes — regular cleaning helps reduce flies and maggots by removing residue that attracts pests. If you’re dealing with a severe issue, let us know so we can recommend the best frequency.

Do you clean the inside and outside of the bin?

Yes — we provide a full clean of the bin, focusing on the areas where grime and odours build up.

Do you need access to water or power?

No — we arrive fully equipped and complete the clean onboard our purpose built vehicle.

Do I need to be home?

No – You don’t need to be at home for us to wash the bins, they just need to be accessible for our team.

My property has difficult access ?

If there are access instructions (gate code, bin location, strata rules), you can add them when you book and we’ll follow them carefully.

Northern Beaches Council bin rules

Northern Beaches Council runs a four-bin system — red for general garbage, yellow for mixed containers, blue for clean paper and cardboard, and lime green for vegetation. That is more bins than most Sydney councils issue, and it means four times the surface area quietly collecting residue between collections.

Your collection day is set by your address, not your suburb. Two streets in the same suburb can be on different days, so check Council’s waste calendar rather than going by a neighbour’s bin.

Four Council rules are worth knowing:

  • Bins out the night before. Council states collection can occur any time between 6am and 6pm on your day, so a bin wheeled out after breakfast is a bin that gets missed.
  • On the kerb, at least 20cm apart, lids facing the street.
  • Lid closed flat. Council’s own reason is worth reading: it prevents windblown litter, spillage during emptying, and foraging by birds and other animals.
  • Bins back in within 24 hours.

These apply across Manly, Freshwater, Balgowlah and Dee Why. North Sydney and Mosman run different systems — those are covered on their own suburb pages.
